Vendor-Driven Reference Data Intern - Mathematics

The Programme

Position overview:

Reference Data Team is a vital corporate resource at the functional core of MSCI’s service offerings. 

The team function supports a significant percentage of the firm's revenue by providing the daily production of timely, complete, relevant, and accurate reference data on over 10 million financial instruments as well as corporate actions data covering both exchange-traded and over the counter (where applicable) products globally.

What You Will Do

  • To automate extraction and filtering of data from the vendor portal. 
  • To regularly update the Vendor-Driven Changes Masterfile and summarize key points, 
  • To build a real-time dashboard that showcases the status of vendor changes and the team’s progress, 
  • To compare current QA checks against vendor, confirm relevance to the process and identify gaps in the logic for improvement.

Required Skills and Abilities

Specific knowledge and skills:

  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and SQL. 
  • Excellent comprehension and analytical skills.

Desired Experience:

  • Technical backgrounds with exposure to automations, logic-based enhancements, Power BI dashboards, and presentation of data.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate students taking Statistics, Math, Engineering or related degrees. 

Must be willing to participate in an internship program with a duration of 3 months starting June 3, 2024.
