Finance and Accounting Interns

The Programme

We are seeking a new generation of visionaries to help launch bold initiatives and shape new directions for General Motors.  
 
As an intern, you will gain hands-on career specific experiences to maximize your real-world potential. 
 
Finance and Accounting Intern Duties (including but not limited to):

  • Learn the process workflow of Accounting / Controllership functions and gain understanding on the journals and reconciliations of the team. 
  • Perform clerical / administrative oversight of on-going Transformation initiatives and projects of the team. 
  • Review the team's SOPs on the primary journals and reconciliations and document any opportunities for improvement. 
  • Lead/participate in site-wide and team-wide engagement activities.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Basic accounting skills. 
  • Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). 
  • KNIME or any similar automation tools preferably trained LEAN, Six-sigma trained. 
  • Leadership skills (e.g. officer in school or community organizations). 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. with high confidence to present to top management). 
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Other Important Notes:

  • Candidates must be graduating or 3rd year college students of Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent, with internship as official undergraduate requirement. 
  • Candidates must be willing to work on a hybrid set-up (approximately 2 days onsite) for at least 500 hours, and willing to extend internship period if needed. 
  • Candidates must be ready to start ASAP, or in February or March at the latest and are okay to work on day or mid shift.
