What does the Compliance Team do in ING?

The mission of Compliance is to support ING to conduct its business activities in line with applicable laws and regulations (Rules), taking into account our internal codes of conduct, risk appetite and societal expectations.  

Compliance drives compliance risk management by desire and design throughout the organization; leveraging the power of ING’s data, tools, risk expertise, and people to support the bank to operate safe and sound and help drive new and sustainable ways of doing business. 

Assist the Compliance Team in administrative integrated compliance and quality assurance tasks as follows:

  • Horizon scanning / assessment of regulatory issuances.
  • Updating of Regulatory Change Register.
  • Compilation of supporting schedules of Compliance Risk Updates for Risk Management Committee Meeting.
  • Coordination with the local Business Control Officers of their deliverables to Compliance.
  • Gap analysis of compliance related regulations versus policies.
  • Assist in Quality Assurance monitoring activities.
  • Updating of Compliance Weekly checklist.
  • Other Compliance administrative tasks. 

What would you gain from this internship?

You will gain relevant knowledge of the risks and processes within Integrated Compliance, Quality Assurance Compliance, Organizational and Conduct Compliance, and Employees Compliance and Ethics.

Internship Period: January to June 2024. Full time for 5 Months

Required Skills and Abilities

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria: 

  • You should have legal work rights in the country of internship.
  • Can physically report to the office (3-4x per week), available daily from 9am to 6pm.
  • You should have an investigative mindset, with an understanding of audit methodologies.
  • You should have data analytical skills and sound judgement.
  • You are a team player - an energetic, motivating person who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
