What does the Corporate Sector Coverage and Financial Institutions Team do in ING? 
 
ING’s Sector Coverage team in Wholesale Banking (WB) operates in various sectors and sub-sectors, including Corporate Sector Coverage (CSC) and Financial Institutions (FI). 
 
CSC mainly covers diversified corporates which include large conglomerates operating in different business lines. For FI coverage, this includes banks and non-bank financial institutions such as insurance companies, among others. 
 
The Sector Coverage team acts as the foremost relationship contact of our various clients and manages this relationship along with the product teams of ING. This includes ensuring the needs of our clients are serviced with specialized sector knowledge across ING’s multiproduct platform.  
 
As account managers, this means leading in the origination, coordination, and execution of transactions. 
 
Internship Period: June/July to November/December 2024. Full time for 5 Months. 
 
An intern in the CSC and FI team will be expected to:

  • Support Account Managers by preparing account and client briefs, presentation decks, and basic financial reports. 
  • Assist in the preparation and conduct of Know-Your-Customer (KYC), including onboarding of new clients, reviewing and researching on clients for due diligence, financial analysis, and identifying product opportunities. 
  • Assist in updating internal records and documents and organizing records database.

Required Skills and Abilities

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria:  

  • You should have legal work rights in the country of internship. 
  • Excellent English writing skills. 
  • Knowledgeable in financial analysis. 
  • Good research skills. 
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft 365 – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams. 
  • Analytical thinker. 
  • Self-motivated and proactive.

We need students who are available full-time daily (9am to 6pm) and can physically report to the office 3-4x per week.
